Harrison Tulip Festival Recognized as the Most Instagrammable Tulip Farm at the World Tulip Summit in Holland

During the Awards Gala Dinner of the 9th World Tulip Summit, the World Tulip Award for “Best Instagrammable Tulip Farm” was presented to Kate Onos-Gilbert of the Harrison Tulip Festival, in Canada, in presence of the ambassadors and diplomats of the participating countries.

Ibo Gülsen, chair of the World Tulip Society: The Harrison Tulip Festival provides visitors a one-of-a-kind experience and scenic view, with endless tulip fields against an iconic backdrop of the snowcapped mountains of the Fraser Valley, making it the perfect Instagrammable spot for tulips.

About the World Tulip Summit 

Since its inception in 2002, The World Tulip Summit has been the premier conference and professional exchange platform for tulip attractions from around the world. The 9th edition was successfully held from 16-18 October in The Hague, The Netherlands. Over 60 delegates from 20 tulip attractions and organizations participated in a varied conference program of over 40 speakers on horticulture, marketing and PR, visitor experience, souvenirs and art & history. Site visits to the world famous Keukenhof and the Tulip Experience Amsterdam provided practical insights into how to create a best in-class tulip attraction.

Impact

Tulip Tourism is a fast-growing industry, attracting visitors from all demographics and geographies. The 20 participating attractions together attract over 5 million visitors every spring, while the total number of tulip tourists globally is estimated at 18 million per annum.

About the World Tulip Awards

The awards are based on the professional judgement of the chair of the World Tulip Society, Mr. Ibo Gülsen, and the conference co-chair, Ms. Gwen Auwerda. The objective of the awards is to recognize individual tulip attractions, organizations and people for their accomplishments and contributions to the industry.

The Harrison Tulip Festival acknowledges and is honoured to be located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Cheam, Sts’ailes, Sq’éwlets and Seabird Island Peoples.
